Spring is finally here! I have decided that this year will be a year of dresses for me! I know I look best is beautiful dresses. So let me make it happen! I love the floral trend that is going on this year!
Here is my latest make: McCall’s 7119 Wrap Dress in a Floral Crepe from Fabricville. For more details on the construction of this dress, please visit my post on Fabricville’s Blog.
Here I will be sharing my pattern review!
Pattern Description: Wrap dresses have bands, fitted bodice, French darts, gathered back neckline, tie ends, skirt (semi-fitted through hips) variations and narrow hem. A, B: Sleeveless, bias armhole facings. A: Contrast facings. B: Shaped hemline, wrong side shows. C: Short sleeves and maxi-length. D: Long, elasticized sleeves. C, D: Raglan sleeves and gathered sleeve cap.
Pattern Sizing: 6 to 22. I cut a size 8.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes it does!
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes the instructions are straight Forward!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I have absolutely no complains about this pattern.
Fabric Used: Bubbly Crepe Coordinate from Fabricville.com
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I graded up the waist to fit mine. I omitted the elastic on the sleeve hem for a flowy sleeve. I underlined the bodice and the skirt since my fabric was see through.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? If I have time, I will. But I have so many other beautiful dress patterns in the queue! I do recommend this dress if you are looking for a real wrap dress pattern. It was my first time sewing a real one. I have many mocked wrap dresses in my wardrobe.
Conclusion: A beautiful Fabric and pattern match! Perfect combination for this spring and summer!
Talk to you soon!
